Journal of Newport History

"Newport History"Newport History is the flagship publication of the Newport Historical Society. Published since 1912, it is one of the oldest journals in America. More than 340 issues have been produced, with over 1,000 articles about Newport County’s rich and storied history. Newport History is a blend of scholarly writing and reminiscences, and is richly illustrated with period photographs, maps, and engravings.

Newport History is a benefit of membership in the Newport Historical Society.

You may review a listing of issues  of Newport History from 1912-2016.  Some are available for sale, as are more recent issues. Please contact the Museum & Shop to purchase. The complete run of Newport History will soon be available to members on the Digital Commons at Salve Regina University.

Newport History Online

Past issues of the NHS Journal, Newport History, are available online. Members receive a free online subscription, and can create an account using their email given when becoming a member. Non-members can purchase a yearly subscription for $30 or purchase a single article for $5. Primarily for scholars, researchers, and enthusiastic members of the public.
